History

We tend to think of the past as a boring, sober place. But what if we told you that the some of the great turning points of history were as substance-fuelled as a nineteen-year-old at Stereosonic?Yes indeed, from Joseph Banks and his marijuana harvest to rampaging Vikings on magic mushrooms, the Nazis' penchant for meth to alcohol's influence on the Australian accent, many an historical tuning point has had an illicit little secret behind it.And there is nobody better placed to uncover these secrets than the ever-witty Eamon Evans. Substance by substance, Jober as a Sudge follows the surprising story of humanity's love affair with all things mind-altering, and how it shaped the world, and the Australia, we know today.
